Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Club VooDoo

Hey dudes.

Anyone here ride (or ridden) a VooDoo, Single Speed or otherwise? I am interested in the Bokor/Wanga, and just wanna know how you guys like it? Since VooDoo's little disappearing act, are they still good bikes? (weld quality, tubing etc?)

I have a '97 Bokor. Best bike I've ever owned.

I can't speak for the modern Asia-made versions, but their old stuff was great. They seem to have some interesting 29ers with sliding dropouts now...

ooo, I like glowing endorsements like that. Know if they kept the geometry the same? Was the bokor always aluminum?

I have a Dambala 29er SS. I've been flogging it hard and I think I'm really, really in love.

Bikes: BMC SL01, XtC, Rhythm GX and a frankenstein avalanche 2.0

especially on a mtb where it could get frequently showered by riding through even small puddles (unless you only ride when its dry)

I've got a wanga. Riding it was really great. had it set up with a surly instigator fork and surly/rhynolite wheels. Came out to about 24lbs. You could probably set one up at closer to 20 with lighweight stuff.
I mainly rode it fixed offroad and it was a blast. the bike is solid and the welds are descent quality. I'm a huge fan of the sliding dropouts.
the problem was that it was a little small. Ordered it out of a catalog as my first mountain bike. Now trying to get rid of it unfortunately.
