don't fail before beginning your assignment.

however crotchety, bitter and hateful the mod is, he is correct. Humor about hipsters will be far more effective juxtaposed against guys on penny farthings, major taylor, eddy merckx, Grahm Obree etc.

You could also juxtapose Keirin Racers with M&Ms and Power Rangers.

Lemmings in the wild don't commit suicide, if that's what you were alluding to. Walt Disney started that "myth".

Take it to hipster forums and ask why they ride track bikes, instead of bike forums and ask why some of them are hipsters. I'm not trying to just be flipant with you. This topic is just getting tedious. And why would anyone use powerpoint? Ick

Nowadays I see the term hipster as a valid description of a something like a sub-culture, rather than a term with negative connotations. One year ago I'd see about two fixed-gear riders a month, sometimes both being the same rider. These days I see fifteen to twenty riders a month. Aslo see the bikes more and more locked up on the sidewalk, at the organic market etc. All but one or two riders will have that distinctive look:

- riding knickers and cap
- messenger bag
- cards in the back wheel
- frame 4-6cm too small (by roadbike standards) to accomodate...
- massive drop from seat to handlebars
- BIG gears
- track drops, , flip 'n chops, bullhorns, straight, or riser bars

Its cool, its a style and a statement...I guess. At least they're riding bikes. Anyway, I'm glad I set up my fixed as a road bike with F/R brakes, traditional drops, and OP rims.

P.S. [whispered] Psst, anyone want to buy an never-been-used Chrome bag?
