Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i tend to think it's easier to hold a no-handed trackstand while standing like that. being able to lock your legs allows you to more evenly distribute your weight between the two pedals.

the original was film, and it was "transferred" to video simply by shooting the screen while it was being projected, would be my guess

No memos at stoplights! I have read newspapers while doing trackstands. I have done them for very long periods of time

Not necessarily, look how low his heal is. Since he probably doesn't pedal with his foot at that angle, it looks like it might be set up right for him.

What?

If I do no-handers, it's standing up and clamping my seat with my knees. That looks like what that guy is doing.
