My new mail order bride (Windsor The Hour)
OK, I bought this bike for a number of reasons:
The welds are definitely NOT going to win any beauty contests, but overall the bike looks pretty cool.
- It's the exact same bike the Eddie Merckxx rode to smash the hour record in Mexico city a hundred years ago
- My daily commute lasts about an hour, so the name fits for me.
- They were sold out of the Kilo TT in my size
- It was only $299, so I can finance this bike by simply scrounging cans out of the dumpster for the 5 cent deposit returns
The welds are definitely NOT going to win any beauty contests, but overall the bike looks pretty cool.

Check out the brake arch fine lug work. Eat your heart out you 3Rensho ba******! That's true craftsmanship right there boys.
Also note, my bike came with the rear rack mounts on the seat stay that were not listed on the BD website. I was pretty psyched about that, since that is one of the reasons I wanted the Kilo TT in the first place.

Beneath the regal headtube badge, it's really a Colagno frame in disguise.
OK, OK! So maybe it's just a Fuji under there...

Yeah, I saw someone's Windsor locked up here and I noticed that. I don't remember seeing it on the pictures, so seeing those made it seem like an even better budget fixed option.

All that bike needs is a threadless headset to make it a VERY good option.

Nice purchase, seems like they can't keep enough of those on hand these days. It's nice to see so much interest in cycling, and BD seems to be doing a great job of bringing it to the masses for cheap.

Does it not come with brakes?
If so, did you get a cable too?
And if you bike to work, how to plan on getting home?
Further more, what's the deal with the stack of hospital blue gowns on your desk?

I really like the slate black. Looks great with black risers
The stem is flat black, the seatpost is flat black, the cranks are flat black, the handlebars are flat black...
Just get out your credit card and buy it already, will ya?!
Resistance is futile

I just got one as well, and I'm loving it. It is also my first fixed gear bike, so "on the cheap" was the phrase of the day. I ordered the 105 brake from Nashbar (should arrive today) and the Cane Creek Crosstop levers (already in) - $11 caliper + $30 levers + $5 cable/housing + $299 bike puts me at $345 grand total. I may have to bump that up a bit and buy a bigger rear cog so I can make it up the hills :-) It came with 48x16 and I think I'll go with 48x19.
I took it out a couple of days ago w/o brakes and was surprised at how in-control I felt. It's a little weird getting used to no coasting and how to skip/skid, but once I figured out the basics, I wasn't bashful about downhills, traffic lights, etc...

i think those are wee wee pads for puppies not gowns.
Good eyes.
Actually, they are designed for puppies, but we are using them for our 18 year old cat who usually misses the cat box by a fair margin...

i want to get one of these so bad. Unfortunatly i already have a windsor i bought 3 years ago, but it would feel so great to get a new bike in the mail, i love that feeling!
anyone know if i can fit some planet bike road fenders in there? id like to use my 28c wheels but i doubt there is enough clearance. can i commute in ice and snow using 23c wheels? if so then im gonna get some fenders for my windsor and ditch the schwinn world i was planing on using for my winter commuter.

how deep of snow are we talking? because my experiance is that your gona have to walk it to a road with decent amount of traffic, depending on where you live thats either a bid deal or not, but in the winter 23 tires are just fine, the high pressure helps cut through stuff, so in light snow there can actually work better than 28s but as soon as it gets beyond and inch or two you might run into trouble, but i've found that actually riding in deep snow in the winter happens alot less than you might think and over ice unless your steed is studed it really donst make a differance

If anyone thought the OP was serious about Mercyx and the 100 year old hour record, you need to get your sarcasm detector checked out.

I got mine 2 weeks ago. She's fun.
The stock saddle sucks though, that was the first thing to go. Then the pedals. Next up is the stem. Everything else is straight.
