as you we're saying......

In your commuting or other assorted travel what has been the best situation that has arisen out of a driver giving you **** and somehow(red light.....) you get to give it back?

I was heading to the grovery store when this lady started flipping out. (apparently I didn't signal, even though I wasn't turning or slowing down... she wanted me to signal that I was going strait?) So she speeds by and flicks me off, and then stops at the next light and I roll up and tell her that i don't have to signal to go in a straight line. She cussed me out a bunch and then speeds off when the light changes.

But then she gets stopped by another light, so i stop again and cuss her out, and then she turns in to the same grocery store parking lot that I'm going to. She walks inside and sees me and darted off the other direction. I guess i won.

I had a motorist cut me off, then scream at me, then swerve into me again at the next light, screaming at me to get off the $$#$#$# road and ride on the sidewalk like i'm supposed to. I kept ignoring her and this made her even madder. Her anger ESCALATED when the nice Policeman on a motorcycle pulled her over and read her the riot act. She bellowed at the Officer to "DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE ^&$#$&*&* CYCLISTS THAT BREAKING THE LAW!!!! THEY ARE ALL OVER THE GODDAMN PLACE, EVEN ON THE ROAD!!!! " The officer explained to here that in BC bikes are considered Vehicles, and have the same rights on the road as motorvehicles. The woman looked like a beet about to explode, she screamed and flailed her arms at the Officer and then tried to drive away. He proceeded to remove the keys, physically restrain her, handcuff her and call in a paddywagon . He told me she was drunk, had "attempted vehicular assualt on a cyclist". I gave my statement, as did three other witnesses, (all in cars too!). Sweet Sweet justice. I think i went too far when i went up the paddy wagon window and stuck my tongue out.

I was riding home from work one day, when a car of 5 17-18 year old guys drove past and threw a drink on me. I started after them but then decided it was pointless. Then as I looked ahead I saw they were gonna catch a redlight. I caught up to them, layed my bike down, kicked several huge dents into their door all while screaming at them to get out of the car. They rolled the window down a crack, apologized and drove off once the light turned green. Hopefully they learned their lesson.

Wow, that is one great result. Did you testify against her to make the charges stick? That was one nice cop, too.

bushman- that is sweet.

I was riding home from my bike shop like every other day when I heard a car with its horn steady blasting getting closer and closer. The driver of the truck gets with in two feet or so and stays there for what I later measured as a quarter mile.
At the end of this stretch there is a red light, I apply my brakes, gently and blamo.....he's on top of my back wheel. I pick up my bike above my head ready to throw it at him when I see.....a undercover police officer.....he saw the whole thing.....so I set my bike to the side of the road and listened to this old redneck proceed to tell the officers that I had no right to be on the road unless I had a license plate......(sweet).....I started laughing profusely at this hero. And the cops gave him the ticket and all that.

After that the cops didn't even offer to give me a ride or call a ride so I'm walking home and look there is the old idiot who hit me.....and I'm talkin to him. Letting him know how he'll never forget me. Making humping gestures, rubbing my nipples. It was great.

I got hit, I'm walking, and a police officer is my witness......mmmm.

To bad my back started to act up after my adrenalin settled down

i got a car ice scrapper thrown at me from an oncoming car. It struck me on me the knuckles and cut my hand open pretty bad. I turned round and saw the car had stopped at the red light. I raced up to the car and upcliped, and kicked the wing mirror to pieces. I then put a dent in the rear panel. The light turned green and the lad drove off, he and his mates **** themselves. Road cycling shoes are so much strongers than car panels. I had to go to doctor and get butterfly stitches on my hand.

No tesmony required. My statement and the witness es statement were enough for the court. The lady got a 5 year suspenion from driving, 300 hours community service, and conditions (alchohol counselling), plus the DUI fines (multiple) from ICBC.

Believe it or not i actually felt bad for her after, she looked like she had a very rough life. Still, does'nt excuse that behaviour.

A few days ago, as I was nearing my established residence, I found myself sprinting through the last light on the trip. The light is pretty quick, so I knew I had to pick it up. Sure enough, it turned yellow just as I crossed the intersection.

Content with my tact, I sat up and rode down the street. Just then, a borderline-decrepit van buzzes me. We're talking inches here and, judging by his speed, the dude obviously blew the light. My obligatory reaction was to fire off the double-bird salute.

Just as I exercised my highly-advanced level of communication skills, a horn blast startled me me. Not a car horn, but that distinct BLUUUURP that only police/fire/ems possess.

The cop, who had seen the entire thing, pulled up next to me with his windows down.

"HEY, RELAX," he shouted. "Don't give'em a reason."

Then he sped away and proceeded to pull the guy over. I rode by and gave the officer big thumbs up with quite the ****-eating grin.

coming home from night school a few years ago i got hit hard by a subaru rsx making a turn without using his signal. i rolled up on his windshield and down on the ground. the driver, who was about my age, pulled over, got out and without even looking at me examined the hood of his car. still without looking at me on the ground he got back in his car and drove off. i was shaken up but okay, and my handlebars were bent but the bike was ridable.

this was a residential street so i figured he lived close by. after a quick search I found his car in a driveway and decided to knock on his door. He answered the door without a shirt on and clearly didn’t know who I was. After explaining that he had just hit and run me, I told him that he should be more concerned with a person than the hood of his car. He told me that he had just put a bunch of money into his car and that was why he was worried I dented it. He added that he was considering calling the police because I hit him!!! I told him to go right ahead because he was at fault not only for the accident but for driving away. At this point he started to seem a bit worried about the whole thing and started to apologize. He then admitted that he drove away because he was scared. I told him the next time he hits someone to make sure they’re alright before checking his car.

I firmly believe that acts of vengeance reinforce, not discourage this type of behavior.

A guy in a Jeep SUV passed me pretty close coming up to a light. I rolled right in back and gave the death stare through the back window. Then I turned around and started rummaging through my messenger bag, acting like I was looking for something. He was in the lane to go straight and he just took off and made a right.
