Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I've always been too afraid to do anything besides a long wheelie here or there and jumping small stuff in the street on a road bike. I can just imagine the head tube snapping and going teeth first into traffic.

Doing a grind...ugh.

Bikes: 2006 Bianchi Pista****, Schwinn Le Tour (converted), 1996 Fugi Finest (built up for a snow bike [almost done]), EAI Bare Knuckle Track (Just got the frame)

This stuff is really rad and it's cool as hell to see in person but if I get to choose I'd rather watch bmx than fixie freestyle any day.

What's next? Ballet dancers on fixed gear bikes? Movies about fixed gear messengers? Bears riding bikes?

I sense sarcasm here, but if you're not aware: it's all been done.

Bikes: your mother on wheeeeeelz

I've ridden with those dudes. They're ****ing nuts, and they're good as **** at riding in general, not just tricking. I don't do it personally.

Bikes: Vintage road bikes, a couple of old beach cruisers...

Pedal grinding will be the next big thing... I predict "skid plates" being bolted to the bottom to fascilitate this. It's going to be the hottest thing since the caucasion fro. As soon as I perfect it I'll post my vidz yo.

I've seen someone set up old-school bmx pegs onto a formula rear hub.

Curb Feelers!! Scraper Bike, version II

Ride your bike, hand-job style.

Fiber optics wrapped around the frame. Colors change in time with your music. Hmm. Sounds so Soul Train.
