Interesting auction for track frames by a "Chilian craftman." Specimens look all right, various sizes and colors, but ugly decals. Possibly not bad for the starting price on the auction, but probably not worth much more. A curious item either way.

i wonder what theyre made of.

I was thinking that same thing. I hate it when people just put "steel" down. I see "steel" on it's own and I think hi-ten steel, which makes my mouth curl like I've been chewing on aluminium foil.

Just sent a question to the seller about the material. The frames look pretty standard. They are apparently 3.9 lbs. frame and fork, but I'm not sure what type of material that would imply.

Holy slack angles Batman! You get quicker handling in an easy chair.
"Head tube 71.1/2 degree, seat tube 72.22 fork 3.5 top tube to froor 32 inches"

deathhare 08-07-07 07:15 PM

It doesnt look slack at all in this pic.

I'm just going by the specs they listed.

"Sir, would you mind holding this bike while we take your photo? Thanks, here's a free water-bottle!"

Found this website through Google.

You can get a decent translation through Babelfish, and there are some detailed photos as well.

deathhare 08-07-07 07:49 PM

Maybe theyre legit.

JStrider 08-07-07 07:56 PM

I'm curious about these as well...

If someone gets one they'll definitely have to do a review.

would be more interested in buying from this guy if he had at least a dozen or so feedbacks saying the frames were decent for the money... instead of 0 feedback...

dijos 08-07-07 07:58 PM

judging from the frame details, it looks pretty nice. Lugged my heart.
you will need a buttload of chasing/facing though.

Also, reading the page in spanish, he seems like the real deal.

bonechilling 08-07-07 07:59 PM

For this price, I don't see how that CANNOT be Hi-Ten straight gauge crap.

I'm very interested to hear what themanmachine hears back from them.

Cynikal 08-07-07 08:04 PM

4130 is fairly cheap.

baxtefer 08-07-07 08:09 PM

26mm seatpost?

Kol.klink 08-07-07 08:13 PM

4130 for 169.99 would not really that bad. and it look at the meastro pic, they've got there logo on the carpet, anyone with there own carpet has to be legit

bonechilling 08-07-07 08:22 PM

Anyone notice this frame?

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Cro-Moly-Tra...QQcmdZViewItem

Almost certainly the KHS/Mercier (rack mounts on the dropouts and seatstay, lugged fork, etc.)

Edit - Nevermind, it clearly states in the Mercier Kilo TT!

deathhare 08-07-07 08:23 PM

the ad says its a Mercier.

The Flite 100 and Kilo TT are the same frame.

Unless you're talking about the Spartan frame, though they may all be sourced from the same spot
(which is why so many people offer them).
