Another taillight to look at is the Cateye TL-LD1000, which is much cheaper.

Edit: I've heard good things about the Planet Bike superflash too.

I'm buying a PB Blaze and Superflash soon, but I'd like a pair of white Knog frog lights on the front fork, and a red pair on the top stays. (Or maybe even a total of 3 superflashes on the back. :D)

i've used the knogs, but only as blinky, be seen lights front and rear (and not really much in the 'be seen' department' when looking at my other lights. in my riding these are useless for anything other than be seen lights when i stop moving. i've used the white one for reading my cue sheet when my headlamp died.

for fork lights on my long distance ride i've got dual e6s with a schmidt hub, lights mounted on the low rider mounts on the fork. i also use a cateye TDLwhatever for the rear. it throws lots of light.

on my cargo bike i have a sidewall generator and use a d'lumotech with standlight and a b&m toplight mounted to the rack for the rear light. very impressed with the d'lumotech. works great at low speeds.

my knog light does disco colors- DOES YOURS? tell me a driver won't see a disco colored bike flying at them.

plus im starting to feel that if you rely on the bike light to save your ass you arn't riding careful enough in the first place.. i ride assuming every car doesn't see me.

It seems as though the more I get into bikes, the more I realize there are a lot of products missing in the industry, like fork mounted headlights. Maybe I should start a company.....hmmm anyone want to donate to a good cause?

i've used this cateye mounted to my fork. easy on, easy off. there is a rubber strap that passes through a cam so you can mount it on bars, helmet, fork, etc.

I also run a white Knog on my right fork blade. They are really bright and the batteries have lasted thus far for 4 months w/o substantial dimming. I'll probably change it out soon.

I have never really had a problem seeing at night in Tokyo (but hey, it's Tokyo). And there are no potholes or broken glass to speak of, so I'm not too worried there either.
