The thingy on saddle's rails

What's this thing on the rails? Can I take it off? Can I use the saddle with a normal seat post? I'm planning to buy this, I only have this picture, so I can't try to see how it works.

that's for making the sex.

yes, you can take it off and it will work w/ a traditional seatpost.

Clamp part of a junk seatpost. Make sure that it has standard rail spacing before you buy.

You're joking, right....?

In the depressing case that you're not, that's a clamp for holding the saddle onto a seatpost which is just that -- a post. i.e. essentially just a piece of tubing. Get a 14mm wrench and you can take it off.

I was wondering what "thing" he was talking about. I was looking for some "thing" other than the clamp. As little as I know about bikes, DAMN! I knew that!

And to all of you. Don't be so ****ing mean. People ask in the other threads much more stupid questions like how do you change cogs and lockrings and so on. I'm not familiar with old bikes enough to know about seat post clamps. So I had to ask.

Anyway, I purchased the saddle, it was just 1150 yen (10$). Will put it on my Schwinn, the road saddle there is killing me.

i'm not really sure which question is more stupid, but i don't think that you should be the judge of that.

Nice generalization. Seeing that you are from the USA, you would think you would know better.

Also, Americans live on both North and South America not just the USA. Additionally, it is embarrassing.
