Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Diamondback Mt Bike Conversion before and after

Just Finished this Diamondback Ascent Ex. I think 86-87 era. Thought I'd share the pics. Gearing is 36/16. The first Mt bike I ever rode was a Diamondback Ascent EX a friend of mine got for his birthday in 8th grade, so when I saw this bike, i knew I had to have it!

Nicely done! I've got an old ATB waiting patiently in my garage for funds for a fixed conversion. Its in line after my chopper and ss for that, though. Too many projects.
