I've been riding these as my only bibs this season. I only wear them and the hammer jersey I bought for my long weekend ride. Rode 70 fixed miles in 4 hours in these bibs and jersey and they are the real deal. Spec Toupe saddle, if you're wondering.
As for Hammer Nutrition, amazing stuff. I have no reason to rep for them other than my experience with their products and customer relations. I bought a 12 pack of their Gel, a tub of HEED electrolyte drink, and a tub of Perpetuem. If you're wondering what I ate/drank over that 4 hours - not a single solid food and wasn't hungry at all. Perpertuem combines all your protein/carbs/electrolytes into one bottle, and then you hydrate with plain water in the other. So I sipped the 800(!) liquid calories in my one bottle, and then refilled with plain water during my gas station pee breaks. Never finished a ride that long so strong - never cramped up, no gas attacks, no terrible taste, and didn't feel wiped. I brought two gel packs with me and didn't even think about them. Ok, I think that's 'nuff said on nutrition products in a bib thread. No solid food--no dueces |
Just for the record, I wouldnt be caught dead wearing one of these things, or spandex shorts.

I can't stand bibs, I'm thinking of cutting mine off and adding an elastic. I'd rather have the very minor discomfort of a waistband than those suspender dealies. Full zip might be ok though.

sierratradingpost.com has (had?) some excellent bibs from CW-X. as good as the nicest pearls i've ever worn, and 1/2 the price.
that said, i'm gonna pick up a pair of the hammer volers too... |

Defensive...so defensive....
I assure you once again, guys, nobody is laughing at you in your lycra. Ride on, ride free. |
Another Voler fan...................

Bibs really are the jam because they never move around no matter how much you're on/out of the saddle. Also I like to rock the occasional Craft baselayer with no jersey (no pockets), and you can tuck **** into the strap parts that wouldn't fit into shorts alone.

So fast to rip on me guys. If you must know I come from a street/trail riding/bmx back ground (20in) so thats where I got my start. Ive been riding for about 20 years. I recently got into road biking and since Ive never had a need for gears before I went with a single speed. I ride 4 or 5 days out of the week, so I do ride. And no I probably wont do a metric century. I dont drink coffee or own a massager bag. I wear whatever Im wearing that day. Usually some kind of cargo shorts or other shorts and have commuted to my job (10mi) a few times.
And yes, everyone thats not on a bike is laughing at people wearing these things and I could care less what other people think, but thats doesnt mean I go around wearing thongs either. |
