Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

What's up with Chicago fg?

Why are they such a clique? I've 'applied' to join them and nada... Does somebody have to know you or something? My girlfriend is there now and there's a possibility I'll move there, I just want to know what's up in Chicago.

It's been ages since I've been on this forum but searching for 'Chicago' here seems to insinuate some sort of drama.

They have recently changed a lot of stuff on the forum from switching servers to adding a bunch of upgrades so that may be why your name hasnt been approved. There is def. no way they are keeping you from joining the forum because you arent apart of some secret bike e-cult.

i doubt they arent leting you in. i applied and about a week later i got in. its not really applying in the sense that they review you. they got a new server i believe a bit ago maybe that has to do with it. try applying again if you can.

Assuming they use the same forum software as the other regional FG sites, that "application" is just a quirk in the software. Have you tried logging in? I didn't have to wait for any kind of approval on bostonfixed or bikelikemad (madison, WI).

it takes a long time for those f.b.i. background checks. I'm sure you'll get in soone enough, as long as they don't find out about that one weekend in nicaragua . . .

I'm sure you will get approved soon. As was said, they just switched servers and many people have had trouble getting on.
It is a nice place and I'm sure you will be warmly welcomed.
