Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: so many

How 'bout have the theme be "get a _____ you ______."

We all hear "get a car you hippie" from time to time, so let's let somebody else have it in the same fashion.

ooo, so down with this.

I was thinking the theme could be evolve from Monkeys to Bananas. I was inspired by this thread (https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...=332848&page=2) that quickly self-destructed into a thread about banana storage systems.

We could then have each spoke card exchange relate to the previous one. I.E. Space Monkeys to Bananas (monkeys like bananas) to Apples (another type of fruit) to Gravity (relying on the story of Issac Newton and the apple falling on his head) to Solar Systems (planets revolve around each other due to their gravities) to Space Monkeys...

weird, it is all comes back to where it started. I fear we may have ripped a hole in the fabric of space time. I fear we are stuck in a loop.

Pretty Bad Ass imo

And I could even tie to Space Monkeys because Space Monkeys have a good chance of getting sucked into a black hole and being sent through space and time!!!

Plus, we are getting closer to time travel day too. (The first Sunday in November when people in the USA set their clocks back an hour for daylight savings. So, in theory, at 2 am, when you set your clock back an hour you technically travel back in time and live the same hour over again. I dress up as Marty McFly for this each year.)

Get a Pepsi, you Coke drinker!! (Crushes Coke can against my head...)

I like Kemmer's idea, I think it's a good balance between constraint and total freedom. But then again, Kemmer and me have a special unbreakable spoke-card bond to begin with.

Sorry to ruin your fantasy, but I hate Pepsi. Besides when I get home I have a case of my favorite cheap bike ride recovery drink to put a hurt on.

Consider this a third on Kemmers idea. then. All this about a theme, how does due by 09.30.07 sound?

4th on the "get a ______ you _______" Seems like there's plenty of possibilities there.

9/30 deadline sounds good too.

Woah. This is great. I'm totally down.

I'm all for "get a ____ you ____". Bukake could be fun, too.

ok so it seems liek the "get a __ you ___" works, what are some more particular constraints, ie. size of cards, who's shuffling/shipping, or do we do this the internet laze way "make your card scan and email' leaving it up to the person to laminate

i'm pretty stoked.

I think its gotta be done the same way... it would be so much more fun to get an actual finished card in the mail rather than just get an image file sent to your email.

I'd be in for this one too. Gotta say, I like the idea of a blood doping/EPO theme.

Umm...how about no theme, just trading cool spoke cards with each other. Who the hell wants 7 human to monkey cards in their rear wheel?
