Do you like to sing while riding?

I don't listen to my music while riding but I enjoy singing. Loud. Try it.

Right now I like to sing Say Anything's "Admit It!!."

Have fun.

all the time. singing somehow makes me forget about how long I've been riding / how much I have left when I am on those long rides to the parents house.

Yeah I totally do. Especially when I've got the headphones in. It would probably be pretty embarassing if I weren't a total dork anyway.

"Prototypical non-conformist

Great song.

I do as well.

People seem to stare at you more though. Then I start singing the Phatom of the Opera.
That throws people waaaaaaay off.

Yup. The annoying part is that it's usually just a couple lines of a song that I have stuck in my head.

I do it all the time, especially when I'm riding home in the middle of the night because then I pretend that no one can hear my terrible voice. At school I ride with an iPod almost all the time, so its too tempting not to.

When i'm not listening to music, I sing. Most of the time I sing old albums in their entirety (Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables is a favorite) or just a song i have in my head at that moment.

Wow... I'm really surprised how many people do this. Maybe we need to reincarnate the "Weird things you do while riding" thread .

I too started singing late at night when no one was around, now I just do it wherever, especially in the city. I have an OK voice so people don't go crazy, I guess.

Also, I usually end up only singing a verse or two repeatedly. Practice, I guess. All in good fun; it makes riding the long ones more tolerable.

I also like to yell at people in the city, although this can come off *******-ish so I don't normally. Usually I just do things like "SCREW THE PPA -- GET A BIKE!!" if I see the parking authority ticket some motorist.

Coincidentally I have had "Every man has a Molly" stuck in my head since 10am. I really like that album.
As for singing on the bike? No, but sometimes I whistle.

There was a long thread about this about a year ago... is it pathetic that I remember it? Probably.

Here it is.

*edit - almost two years ago. I am really pathetic.

hahaha, farts.
sometimes it's difficult to fart when i'm riding, and i really have to exert myself. i hope i don't accidentally poop one day.
i don't sing when i ride, unless i'm wasted... in which case i sing whether i'm riding or not.

so weird, but...
when i'm getting worn out but trying to keep a solid pace, i sing misfits' "she", as it keeps me turning a solid bpm without slacking.
i've always thought it was really weird, but it works. or at least my will would like me to believe it works...

I can break out into song at any time while riding.

Manowar, Metallica, Polysics ect

When training on mountains its been

Ride up the mountain,
Ride up the mountain,
Ride up the mountain,

to the tune of ride of the Valkyries

Or I hurt myself today, Nine Inch Nails.

At the end of very long rides it always defaults into Hungry Man by Louis Jordan.

Not entire songs, just snippets usually. And sometimes they get looped together in a weird mashup. Climbing up the Brockway grade on Sunday morning, it was Chumbawamba vs. Thomas the Tank Engine:

I get knocked down but I get up again
you're never gonna keep me down
They're two, they're four, they're six they're eight
shunting cars and hauling freight.

When I got to the top I had to look for a large rock to bash my head.

Singing, hell yes.

When I am really happy the whistleing starts.

Could be anything from Mahler to Sonic Youth. It all depends on whats going on in my head at that moment.

Bikes: A 2007 Trek 4300. 22.5", 1981 Trek 610 24" (61cm)

I hum parts of the Jason Bourne soundtracks (currently stuck in my head), whistle selections from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (while wearing a bandanna over my face to keep the bugs out ), or sing Neil Young "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World."

Or at least that was my ride today.
