Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Off topic question

I recently snagged a lemond zurich for my girlfriend off craigslist on the cheap. Didnt give it the white glove treatment(which was a really ****ing dumb one on my part) but I bring it home and there is a decent amount of rust and there is a crack in one of the carbon fork blades. I know the fork urgently needs replaced before she can go out and ride the thing. My question is... Do I try and get a warranty on the fork and keep the rusty lemond frame? Get one of my buddies to grab me a surly pacer from qbp on the cheap? Try and see if lemond has a frame replacement program?

The frame is rusty? Is it an older model? On the website they say it's full carbon.

It really shouldn't matter much if the frame is rusted, since steel isn't going to spontaneously fall apart on you. If there is no frame replacement program then buy a new fork and at some point sandblast the whole thing and treat it.
