Is this a decent wheelset?

Is this a decent wheelset?

Is this a decent wheelset?

I've been looking for a new wheelset (SS MTB) and came across this:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EWA:pIC&ih=013

Does it sound like a decent wheelset for the price?

It looks OK. Kind of curious about that panther hub though.

If I were you though, I'd just look for a decent freehub wheelset and single it. It'd save you some weight and you'd have a better chance of selling it later on down the line if you decide to upgrade.

Your tires will be flat within half a mile of your doorstep.

Inject tubes with 90 PSI of slime and maybe they'll be OK...

That panther hub is definitely suspect.

If you are fine with rim brakes, I'd just get a normal MTB wheelset and use spacers and a single cog. You'll get a much less sketchy wheelset for a much better price.

You'd be much better off going with something like this craigslist find and putting a single cog and some pvc spacers back there.

I'll agree on the rear, but since when has a Surly hub been puny?

I was kinda wondering about that rear hub and you guys confirmed my suspicion. Thanks for the input!
