Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? This topic was discussed in the last "Cinelli Super Corsa lugged track frame" thread and I am going to bring it up again-----haven't these frames always been available since Cinelli started making them?

There has never been a year that these were not available, they are just expensive as hell so people don't see them often, right? Or am I totally 100% wrong about this?

Yes, you are correct. I think this year is of some note simply because they are making them in like 7 different colors. And to be honest, not much more expensive than the ridiculously over priced used keirin frames of today.

So does anyone know what they actually cost? In contrast to 315000 yen, used Keirin frames are cheap!

I'm guessing lower than that. The black Super Corsa was around $1000. I can't imagine they'd raise the price $500 just because there are more color options. The Vigorelli was under a grand as well.

Yeah, the frame was designed 60 years ago according to this site, with very few changes. It would seem that it wasn't being made for awhile though as Cinelli doesn't have it listed in any of their old sites; does anyone know how long the hiatus was?

Here is a road model from 1962 and it does look very similar:

I'm guessing the only difference between the "Olympic Pista" and the "SuperCorsa Pista" are in the name.

Those prices are expensive compared to here:

https://www.gvhbikes.com/

click on the Frame Inventory and you'll find Cinelli Supercorsas. A pity they don't have them in Pista.

i hope those new ones aren't also columbus thron. paying that kind of money for an entry level tubeset is pretty preposterous.

They are made of Columbus Spirit Niobium Steel which is likely on par with SLX, I dunno, I've never ridden it but the Super Corsas back in the '80s were made of SLX. Thron is entry-level?
