Trackstand in a lift

Just tried this (don't ask why) and was one of the weirdest things I've ever tried. I actually fell off twice the sensation was so strange. Give it a go! (Hope its not just me..... I mean, I know I'm special but thats enough of a hindrance as it is)

I used to live on the 15th floor. It was a long ride up. I used to try this all the time.
It is weird, yes.

i can just see a commercial where a guy walks in and there's a hipster trackstanding in an elevator, the doors woosh closed and the music comes on... floors pass... the guy gets off, doors woosh closed and the hipster falls over.

man that would be great.

A person trackstanding in a moving elevator seems like an example taken from my physics book.

None the less, I've tried it too.

why all the complaining about hipsters because they ride fixed?

you don't see rockstars complaining that they stole all their skin tight pants

nor railroad engineers that they stole their bandanas

I work on the 8th floor of an office building and my goal is to go from my front porch to my desk without taking my feet out of my clips. This would include, trackstanding while waiting for the service elevator and again on it, probably surrounded by construction workers. I'll let you guys know when I pull it off.

Are you so sure? I am a skater and I complain they stole my style.

Actually, I don't care, but it is funny.

I wish I could even have the chance of doing this, but putting my keypass in the door might be hard.

Congrats! I only got as far as the elevator but our elevator is so tiny the bike only fits in there upright on the rear wheel... so I never really had a chance to complete the commute the right way, or to t-stand in the elevator

In Madison there is an elevator to get up from the highway below to the parking garage behind the Monona Terrace. It can fit about 4 people trackstanding at once. It used to be part of our weekly ride.

Daamn... the entrance to my building has automatic doors. The elevator is pretty small, so i'd have to back out. Still I am gonna try this.

Well, I need to scan my badge to get to my floor once in the elevator, so it's still tough. if it's crowded in there, backing out might be a real problem.

This thread needs pic's. Points given for smaller elevators, crowded elevators & / or need for security key / pad / swipe card

Prize: When you're that awesome, who needs a prize?

Nice. Sometimes I make it all the way from bed to work, and then back into bed without waking up.

By "lift" you mean elevator, right? Not those hydraulic things that mechanics use to raise the cars way up high? That would be dangerous.

whatever floats your boat... but I meant elevator. Didn't realise lift wasn't a universal term for the same thing.

What you need to do is get some speed into the elevator and ride your front tire up that back wall into a wheelie stall. Just hold onto the front tire and ride that motha' out. Pics of this would be necessary.
