Seagull Black Bag Size

Seagull Black Bag Size
I'm considering purchasing one of Dan's Black Bags, as I am in dire need of a new messenger bag. I can't tell, however, if this bag will be ridiculously large on my skinny frame. I am 5'10", 140 pounds. I will use the bag to commute 10 miles roundtrip to school once or twice a day (carrying spiral notebooks, laptop, a novel or two, and a bike lock), and I would like to be able to stash a few odds and ends from the grocery store. I have looked at the pictures on Dan's flickr and on the forum, but none have height/weight of the wearers listed. Would this bag swallow me whole? Any feedback from owners would be greatly appreciated.
For whatever it's worth, I'm also looking at a Chrome Citizen/Metropolis and a R.E.Load Civilian, but I would rather support Seagull if it won't be too large. Thanks!

Too bad I ordered my Black Bag a week or so ago and haven't got it yet or I'd be able to tell you everything you need.
If no one has answered this I'll let you know when I get mine.

I'm 5'10" or so and only about 116lbs. The bag fits where it's supposed to, my only issue is that I have to tighten the strap all the way down to be tight, and if I don't have much in the bag, it still feels slighty loose. But the stabalizer strap pretty much takes care of that, so it's really not a big deal.
As far as size..it is a fairly large bag as you probably already know. I'm sure the dimensions are somewhere on the Seagull site. On me it pretty much covers my entire back.
I definitely recommend the bag also, I love mine.

Materials-
- Outer layer is 1000 denier Cordura (black)
- Inner layer is 18 oz pvc coated mesh (orange)
- Webbing is both heavy weave polypro (for all 1.5 in peices) & A tight weave Nylon doubled over and stitched twice to create the main strap (this makes it smooth yet durable
- Hard delrin 1.5 inche buckles all the way around
- Classic Seagull metal cam buckle system (I am currently working on a plastic version with a quick release function, but its not perfect yet)
- Strap pad is an ultra thick specially designed foam (its a seagull exclusive)
Constrution-
- Double layer (fully floating liner)
- Three ply construction (the bag is made of three peices which does away with any pointy corners)
- Constructed entirely on one of two industrial Lockstitch sewing machines (this means that its solid)
- Angled mainstrap
Size-
- 19 in wide, 14 in tall, and 10 in deep
Features-
- Three pockets
- two on the front of inside (one is fully closing and the other is a flat pocket w/ 3 penslots)
- One huge flat pocket under the flap (I have decided not to use zippers at this point. It will be one pocket with a pocket flap
- Super padded/articulated strap. This pad also fits a u-lock onto it (pics coming soon)
- Under-arm strap (eliminates sway)
- Blinky holster
- Floating liner (prevents water from going through the seams)
- Clip for keys (or a seagull tool bag) located on the inside of the bag

Hi guys,
Thread revival lol.
Was thinking of getting a black bag in medium but find it kind of hard to measure the actual capacity of the bag.
Could someone help me see how many toilet rolls you can stuff into the medium black bag?
Its a weird but ingenious way of measuring bag capacities that timbuk2 came up with.
Thanks for your help.

I've never used the seagull bags, but their pictures look like they take them with not much in the bags. I think that might make them look flatter and wider than they actually are.

I ordered a custom large sized bag and the thing is huge. I almost wish I would have gone with the medium black bag. But this weekend I had to bike home from my campus with most all my dirty laundry, my laptop, two cameras, locks/waterbottle, lights, and all my chargers. the bag carried it all fine and it was fairly comfortable. The bag is meant to sort of stick out, unlike chrome it has a longer bottom, so when it's filled it takes more of a boxy shape.
But mine was custom and it took nearly the entire summer for it to get into my hands.
And also you can't make ANY changes to the black bag. They're all made before hand and not made to order. If you wanted even something as little as the seagull logo changed, it would be considered a custom bag.

That being said.. mine was (sold it) pretty big, but I think medium would've been to small.
