For the record, I agree completely. But when you are out riding and start to crash, you do what you can. It's the first time I've eaten fast food in several months, and I'm vegetarian at home. I am actually starting to develop feelings about the morality of ME eating animals (not the morality of other people doing it, just me.) But, yeah, it's not meant to be mean spirited or chest thumping... just kind of a great photo op that I thought people might have a laugh at.

Seriously. I read message boards like this because the rest of the English-speaking internet is so full of this stupid, macho chest-thumping crap, so it's a tad disappointing to me to read that **** here.
Although with the rapid decline in quality of this forum, I shouldn't be surprised.

I think this "just shows what society has degraded to", being offended by a damn cheeseburger on a ****ing bike seat. maybe we should all go cry about it and let our feelings be hurt. BTW, has anyone here ever listened to Neal Bortz?
And yes, I am a vegetarian..........

BTW, I listen to Neal Boortz every now and then. I find it a 50/50 relationship. 50% of the time I want to punch him in the face and 50% of the time I find myself basically agreeing.
Why do you ask?

That picture is a portrait in responsibility.
Perhaps the OP isn't posting it to offend anothers' lifestyle choice, but rather to express his own?
A cow died and it's hide was used to make that saddle, the meat went into the burger, the milk into the cheddar cheesey goodness. The rider is gaining nutrition from the burger, whilst making use of the leather saddle.

v-rock, I asked because my thread just reminded me of the way Neal says "feeeeeeelings" when he is talking about something like this. Yes, I see where people could be coming from about it just not being funny.
I was thinking the other day, shouldnt vegans like leather? You know, im sure they dont kill a cow just for the leather. It is probably just a by-porduct of the beef industry. So shouldnt vegans be pro-leather since it gives alot more use to the cow who has allready sacrificed his life for McDonalds? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Only to the uneducated. The meat industry is actually quite harmful to the environment.

Spare me.
I've been there. I was a veggie for 7 years.
Let me tell you, I felt a whole lot better after I started eating meat again, like a fog was lifted from my brain, seriously.
Now I only abstain from meat on Wednesdays and Fridays and during fasting periods.

Doesn't change the fact that the meat industry is not sustainable.

Listen, if by not eating meat you think you're going to change the world, more power to you.
If you don't eat meat as a matter of moral choice, I think that is commendable. Truly. Like I said I've been there.
If you think that other should also refrain from eating meat because of what you have decided upon as a "morally correct" choice, that's another matter.
How do you define "sustainable"? Cow's are a renewable resource. It's not like strip mining coal or fossil fuels where once it's gone, it's gone.
I do think that alot could be done to make the meat industry more humane.
