Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Things that make you lol.

Every day in front of Temple's J&H dining hall: This kid who locks his quick release front wheel to a pole. He passes it through the fork at the same time... I think he thinks this is secure???

Iamalex goes to Temple too, so maybe he'll steal the bike to make a point.

Tonight, pretzel factory. Kid comes up on his crusty old cruiser with a REload TT pad and... freelocks his ride with a Fuggeddaboutit for the whole 30 seconds he's at the counter.

That kid lived in my dorm last year (1940). He used to leave it like that overnight on the fence in front of 1940. I explained to him that that wasn't secure, apparently he didn't listen.

There's a kid here with a Next MTB (piece o' sh*t) that he locks with a huge freakin' chain through both wheels and the frame. It's only silly because the bike isn't worth stealing. Kinda funny in the opposite direction of what you're talking about.

I was just walking through downtown, and there was this kid (probably 17) on an old singlespeed riding on the sidewalk toward me. About 15 feet from me was an empty McDonald's cup, standing upright on the sidewalk. This kid deliberately takes his foot off the pedal just to knock it over--the WAY he did it, though, was what made it so funny; it was as if he saw the cup at the last second and was like, "Oh, $h!t, I gotta kick this cup!"

I looked at him quizzically as he continued past me, and a woman walking behind him and I shared a knowing smile. I didn't lol, though.

Is it dorky to think, "why would you have a Torah and a Bible, when the Bible contains the Torah?" Maybe, so that one can have the Hebrew text?

Where is the Book or Mormon? LOL
