another lock questions (sorry)
i was wondering if a kryptonite evolution mini u-lock along with a cable lock would be a good enough combo for locking up in NYC for up to 3 hour periods of time, no overnight locking or anything. I have a taped up fuji track, so it looks less shiny than it could. I tried searching but came across no results as to the effectiveness of this lock in such situations. thanks guys.

Im not from NY but its more or less the same logic here.
There are many variables.
It really depends on if someone trys to steal it. Or who trys. Or where its locked up. NYC has many levels of suck. Also...depends on what you lock it to.

it's worth reading, I got the Bulldog STD U-lock for $35. Though I'm in Grand Rapids, MI. Not the same as NY

I use just a mini-U and cable (not a cable lock) in Boston with no problems. Locks are only a deterrent, but having two different kinds of lock should leave you in good shape, especially for short periods of time.
