IRO Crank Question

Anyone help me out here?

My video card is going bad on me, can"t see anything clearly, especially pics...

On the IRO site, do IRO cranks have the chainring on the inside or outside of the spider. It looks to me on the inside but I can't be sure.

Also anyone know what Iro crank are rebranded from??

thanks

It's on the inside.

I don't know what the cranks are exactly, but they certainly are not RD2s.

alright...well were they at some point? they seemed pretty sure about it in that thread.

edit: i'm actually really curious to know what they are

Landgolier 10-11-07 07:17 AM

They're some OEM stuff, I don't know exactly what but they're not the same as any Sugino or whatever. It's not worth worrying about, they're pretty good cranks, though I think they're made from one die and drilled to length, which bugs people who are really anal.

Pake?

thequickfix 10-11-07 07:51 AM

There was a Japanese (I think) online retailer that came up a while ago that was selling 144 BCD cranks that looked almost identical, but I can't remember who it was.

Anyway, the IRO cranks are a good value. The chainring is mediocre.

P.S., I like your avatar, ab seize. I have a shirt with the same image.

Iro's are probably the same as RPM.

You are correct twice over. They are all made from one die, my crankarms are 5mm longer than necessary. You are also correct in that it bugs anal people (me).

thanks for the info.

I just ordered a sugino rd. Even with all the crap I have gone through with the chailine issues I still like them. Also they are decent price..

crap, now I have to wait and get them and screw with getting a new bb.....what is it this week 110 or 103 or 107 or????

only thing I know, I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever screw around and get a 103mm ITALIAN thread bb again for the rd's...never!!!!!!!!!!!!

107, Chainring on the inside, 1-2mm of spacers depending on cog/hub. Or 103, chainring on the outside, 3/32" (8 speed) chain, ignore the noises it makes, wear out drivetrain faster.
