IRO Crank Question
Anyone help me out here?
My video card is going bad on me, can"t see anything clearly, especially pics... On the IRO site, do IRO cranks have the chainring on the inside or outside of the spider. It looks to me on the inside but I can't be sure. Also anyone know what Iro crank are rebranded from?? thanks |
It's on the inside.

sugino RD2s. the thread that told me this is from last march so i would guess they still are. http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=282898
|
^^^Nope. Not even close.
http://www.irofixedgear.com/ProductImages/crank_LRG.jpg http://www.universalcycles.com/image...dium/16827.jpg I don't know what the cranks are exactly, but they certainly are not RD2s. |
alright...well were they at some point? they seemed pretty sure about it in that thread.
edit: i'm actually really curious to know what they are |
They're some OEM stuff, I don't know exactly what but they're not the same as any Sugino or whatever. It's not worth worrying about, they're pretty good cranks, though I think they're made from one die and drilled to length, which bugs people who are really anal.

Pake?

There was a Japanese (I think) online retailer that came up a while ago that was selling 144 BCD cranks that looked almost identical, but I can't remember who it was.
Anyway, the IRO cranks are a good value. The chainring is mediocre. P.S., I like your avatar, ab seize. I have a shirt with the same image. |
Iro's are probably the same as RPM.

107, Chainring on the inside, 1-2mm of spacers depending on cog/hub. Or 103, chainring on the outside, 3/32" (8 speed) chain, ignore the noises it makes, wear out drivetrain faster.
hey thanks, langolier....I was just reading your other thread from several days ago.. I ordered a 103 sugino bb with it so I think I finally got it right |
