Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? This photo inspired me to build a new wheelset. I am thinking black Velocity Fusion rims, black double butted spokes, black formula hubs, polished EAI cog. Anyone know where I could pick up some good gumwall tires? I came across Veloflex, but I am sketchy about that for brakeless fixed gear riding. I dont really skid much.

nothing sketchy about the veloflex pave if you don't skid much.

except perhaps, talking about blackness, if the sidewalls of the ones that come in black are like the veloflex corsa i have tried (basically the 20mm wide version of the pave) - the black sidewalls turned dark brown almost right away

could someone confirm whether the black sidewalls of the "veloflex pave black" (black sidewalls) remain black?
otherwise, not the most durable tires of course, but these tires are fantastic.

Here is my newest bike. Sorry for the crappy basement shop pics as the weather sucks right now. I just got it and robbed a few bikes for some parts to get it finished so I could ride it this past Sunday in a local Alleycat.

I don't get it either, but thanks for the compliment. It had its own thread when I built it, but i was my first build based on an old Trek mtb frame I swiped from my brother. In all I think I spent about $100.

Guy above (DasProfezzional)has made jokes about bikes with no brakes before (fixed) & your's appears to be SS with a rear brake only? So i’m just not sure about the guy’s logic? But i like as well.

I think riding brakeless is silly. That bike has a brake. I still don't get your point.

P.S. I'm pretty sure it's fixed.
