Thats kinda sad. I feel bad for Vivalo.
I wonder if theyll keep building frames for amateur racing.
They should start building tough built street frames.

well you do have a gorgeous red makino, i wouldn't think vivalo makes the cut anymore hah.
this is too bad though.. i think everyones probably right in that they will take a huge hit and probably have to adapt their business tactics
i think i remember something similar happening to a company called raizin, they used to make njs frames but for whatever reason didn't after some year, i'm not sure if it was due to popularity or what but i think now they make street frames and judging by the fact i've only seen one in my life (not new) i don't know if they're doing so well.
kinda bizarre though, vivalo's one of the biggest isn't it?

unlikely. it's probably either that the brazing was sub par (like with the fork crown/streerer separation) or that the tubes were overheated and made fragile as a result.

What's "your estate", the wife?
I don't know. I am kinda glad that a company producing bad quality stuff, is actually called to responsibility. The ramifications of this are multiple and all positive, eccept for the "disciplined" company.
Stuff like this should happen more often, by way of really powerful consumer associations.
This reminds me of a series of front suspension forks produced by Manitou. I don't remember the model name, but in any case, ther was a huge number of people that complained the crown broke in half. I think there have been hundreds, if not thousands, of cases. How Manitou managed to not get slapped by a class action I will never understand. They should have been *****-slapped into nothingness. I mean, it's people's lives at stake. Not that matters much to corporations, now does it.

raizin is still making frames and doing very well it seems, a friend uses them exclusively to make mtb frames for his shop and there is now like a year wait.
one thing I wondered is if now everyone in the US's vivalo frames are suddenly devalued; if people really want the njs mystique, they won't buy vivalo, will they? this would be bad for people---suddenly your investment has lost half its value.

i think they will lose some value
i think it is because there is an at least partially-founded rumor that they have poor quality control
i believe it !

Vivalos and Bridgestones are probably the two most common frames you see for sale because yeah, they both pump out a lot of frames to the market.
I've only seen one Vivalo in my city.

Why? 'Cause while nice, their keirin bikes are way overalvalued. Especially the big ones. These things were dirt cheap not so long ago... And for what the market on these frames is now, I've thought of selling and purchasing a custom-for-me bike.

People are selling clean frames for ridiculous prices on Ebay. I've seen many Vivalo's and Bridgestone's for $900 BIN +shipping. Insane. If I ever wanted a frame that expensive, Kalavinka would make you one for a few hundred more and its fully custom.
