Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I LOVE making stuff from scratch. It gives that unique feeling that you can only get when you know it is truly unique. It gets frustrating, but never boring like school.

I keep so much crap because I see so many uses for it.

I probably won't get the designs up just yet. I need to figure out a way I could reduce stress on the headtube. I don't know how there would be any difference, but I am getting too ugly of a reading at that angle.

I will try different numbers, and see what comes out.

See, because I can't tinker for hours, I just use a program I wrote. Not as fun, but it produces results. Sometimes.

its easier to make stuff out of other stuff.....i look at it for awhile.....then look some more.....hold pieces together.......look some more......then start choppin and tackin together......then change it as i go if needed.....you need a folding tall bike

Exactly. It turned out to be a glitch.

Anyway, I am exactly the same when it comes to building stuff. I like to get the pieces where I like it, and hope it works but my living space won't allow it, so I just do that on a much smaller scale.

I just happened to have some books and free time, so I wrote the program on my calculator.

Its not as complicated as it sounds. All it does is asks you for the weight, angle, angle etc. and it punches the numbers in an equation on its own and gives you numbers back, which you have to figure out.

Anyway, you know what'd be cool? Finding a way to convert something small like a bmx. How could the cranks be raised, though.

My drawings are in the trash.
