i actually like the monster seats. if it wasnt for the monster seats, pedroia wouldnt have hit that homer in the game 1 of the series. remember that.

Fugazi Dave 10-29-07 02:58 PM

I still say any modification to the Green Monster is evil.

kidtwisty 10-29-07 05:26 PM

red sox fans are the pure definition of jumping on the bandwagon.

there is of course, "urban fixie culture"

JayNev 10-29-07 05:47 PM

decided not to go down to fenway last night, did in 04 though. also did when they beat the indians but the cops locked down everything

BigBoss 10-29-07 05:51 PM

LMAO @ Casual sports fans...

John Lester, Dustin Pedrioa, Pappelbom, and Ellsbury were the stars of this series and are all home-grown talent fom our minor league system.

I almost forgot, most hipsters became hipsters because they couldnt play team sports.

Listen, Boston is the home of the most passionate, long-time baseball fans. Don't get confused by the influx of college students.

I don't know if they are the most passionate and long time fans. Arguably Yankees fans are just the same. There isn't much denying though that outside of Boston a lot of people have become Red Sox fans seemingly out of the blue. It simply became uncool to like the Yankees due to the rivalry which people who are not long time fans of either team wouldn't even understand.

I am surprised to no end that Northeastern is still standing. Between this and '04, it should have burned to the ground by now. Cue DK: "Riot."

Morgie 10-30-07 12:35 PM

while boston is being discussed I'll throw in a shameless and random plug for www.Bostonfixed.com

+1. They had to have a school sponsored bonfire/pseudo-riot at UMaine because of all the ******* who wanted an excuse to scream. Most of those idiots dont even remember when being a Red Sox fan meant saying "There's always next season" even when you didnt quite believe it.

bruins? BC?

Red Sox fans hate the Yankees. Yankees fans don't care about the Red Sox.

Go to Boston and see how many different anti-Yankees shirts, caps, cup, etc..are available for sale vs. pro-Boston swag. There is more anti-Yanks gear than Boston Sox gear.

Come to NY and we don't run anti-Sox gear...because we don't care.

Guaranteed, there are already 100 different shirts mentioning this year's win AND a rag on the Yankees.

dont give that crap. yankee fans hate the sox just as much if not more than the sox hate the yanks. even more so now. apparently everyone hates the sox fans now.

i also think steinbrenner cared, remember the first series between the yanks and the sox. the yankees got swept and torre practically out the door right when that happened.

You are absolutely right we don't care about it as much and im a new yorker too. but viper is right this might be the year of boston in every damn sport

ahand 10-30-07 04:35 PM

who tried to ride through town to school today during the red sox parade?

this guy.

JayNev 10-31-07 12:00 AM

saw a bunch of fixed bikes out today while i was at the parade.
speaking of shirts.. today it was all "dont sign a-rod" and "jeter is playing golf" or something

S.Lemon 10-31-07 12:08 AM

I doubt Rodriguez will go to Boston. Seems unlikely. Most people are predicting the Angels. Problem is, there aren't that many teams who can afford him, considering it is going to be similar to when the Yankees acquired him from Texas and had to pay leftover contract.
