What gear ratio's/gear inches are you guys running? I just upped to 88.7 and it feels pretty good for the fan.

I'm riding 48-17 and love that ish!!!

I think I'm at like 74ish gear inches!

and when he rides by me I throw my trident through his spokes and he starts flipping towards the river and ultimately explodes into flames when he hits the railroad tracks. Its pretty awesome. Im still amazed he falls for it at least twice a week

I'm doing a persuasive speech in my SPCH121 class about bicycle advocacy. Mainly talking about the importance of sharing the road and how cycling is better than running on joints. A) does anyone know if its illegal in Richmond to ride on the sidewalk and B) does anyone have any suggestions or additional points to make.

not really. I'd like to find out if riding on the sidewalk is illegal because it damn well should be. I saw a guy almost get plowed today on the corner of main and harrison today because he was riding some pos hybrid on the sidewalk and went through a crosswalk when a lady was turning.

though I can really vouch for the joints thing. I have been a runner for years but can no longer run due to an injured achilles tendon. Luckily i became obsessed with cycling right around the time of the injury so I didnt lose any time. but yeah, I can barely run 50 feet anymore but I can ride as long as long as my legs can take it.

I've tried to google a bunch of different phrases about bike laws in Richmond w/o any luck. I'll just tell my class its illegal in my speech, that way at least 20 people will never ride on a sidewalk ever again.

When I first started riding I rode on the side walks often. One time I was in downtown Norfolk on the sidewalk, and a cop told me that I must ride on the street. So its either illegal or that cop was an as shole. Both equally likely.

I'm pretty sure I picked up a bike law pamphlet from Recycles one time. I'd check that out.

I know its illegal some places to ride on the sidewalk, but it is rarely enforced from what I have seen.
