Kilos look slick. Pistas, at least the new ones look goofy to me for some reason.

Its the fork, I was at a store in town and put my Kilo TT next to a Pista and my fork is 11 times sexier than that horrible thing that holds the front wheel on a pista.

Well, yeah, but at $350 shipped built up, it seems worth the extra few bucks for the whole bike. If the parts ain't good enough, flip 'em and come out ahead anyway.

Not bad looking, but I'd probably go for an alien and save some cash if I were in that market.

Any Spicer lugged track frame is going to be the same Maxway bike that everyone else is going to be selling by the middle of next year.

If you have any patience, I would definitely NOT buy the Spicer track frame stand-alone, since Bikes Direct is going to be selling them in February for $175 shipped, in a variety of colors, and without and logos.

Except that you can't buy the alien frame for another 4 months or so.

Look, this crap is all the same. It all comes from Maxway or Kinesis, it's all generic tubing, and none of the geometries are that life-changing. The lugged stuff is coming along because there's demand for it, but I'm not sure why people are going gaga for totally generic lugs, even if some of them are shiny. It doesn't matter which brand you buy, if one of the completes has the mix of parts you want, go for it, otherwise get a frame and build it up. Spicer, Alien, IRO, Surly, Bianchi, Jamis, Specialized, who cares? This is basic stuff coming off of the same production lines as every $400 hybrid and $650 Sora road bike out there, and yet every time some "company" (read: glorified shipping depot) cuts and pastes another OEM product into their catalog or maybe even makes tiny spec changes to what they're ordering, everybody goes OMG MUST DISCUSS MUST DISCUSS!!!!!111. It's an entry level frame, buy one that has the setup you want and get on with your life.

Performance really needs to get on this track bike thing quick, start selling $150 unbranded Maxway frames and $100 Vuelta wheelsets in their stores.

I got a catalogue from them about a month ago that listed Madisons at $399.
