Conversion renaissance
Lots of conversion threads lately; new pics from a lurker / newbie...
From $50 Yahoo Japan purchase to my current (and only) fixed-gear ride, no
regrets at all on doing the ultimately not-so-cheap conversion.
An opportunity to disassemble a bike...
See what part-wear looks like...
Make a few mistakes without worrying about maring new shiny-bits...
Headset and bottom bracket maintenance (thanks to the resource thread)...
Something to clean / do while waiting for replacement parts...
Converting wasn't cheap, and although could be possible given the right conditions,
"inexpensive" is probabably not the best motivating factor (for newbies in particular)
for converting a bike.
My next ride will be assembled new methinks, but all rational arguments aside, my first-time
conversion was a blast and I've no regrets.
Pics attached... the Panda will getcha...
