Chicago roks!
I haven't been home in two years and haven't ridden a bike here since I was a shorty. So, back home for the weekend (its my birthday today, or technically yesterday). I flew my bike out here and there are so many ****ing bike lanes here, way more than there was before I moved. I can't believe go many people I saw riding tonight. I was riding around in the rain all day, hood to hood. I love riding here. Really makes me want to move back. You guys rok! Stay up!

Chicago ftw. Compared to the relatively few cities I've ridden in, MKE, Madison, STL, Philly, suburbs of Chi, I still can't find anything I like less about Chi than the others.

i hear nothing but good things about it, save the few wimps who complain about the winter
ive been there three times to visit, havent gotten to bike around it though. it's definitely high on my list of places to move.

Winter is no big thing. I definitely miss the city and the food (Gino's, anybody?). Indy's no Chicago.

**** gino's. Chicago's pizza ftw. Ever since I moved that's all I wanted for my birthday. Got some last night, but my sissy assed friends couldn't handle the puffy clouds of salty angelic goodness known as anchovies so we just had pepperoni. Still the best bday feast I have ever known.

I finally got home last weekend and had Gino's and Nancy's. It was awesome. People at work don't understand why I ask them to pick me up some when they visit SRAM HQ.

Alberto's is pretty good; there's a place in or around Wrigleyville that was pretty high on my list but I don't remember the name.

I remember when I was a about 11(1981) we would go dumpster diving in the hood to collect the pizza menus of the boxes. Alberto's would give you a free large pizza with the turning in of 12-15 box menus. Don't know if they still do that but that was pretty kick ass feature to a teenager. Do they still do that Dersu? Is the Heartland cafe still at Lunt and Greenview? Great vegi chili!

Chicago gets the job done. Food's good and there's bike fun to be had. It took me a while to warm up to the place, and I'm not sure I really even like the city, but everyone in the bike scene (whatever that is), is pretty awesome.
Oh, and chifg.com for missed connections and other fun stuff.

Enjoy the higher city, county, and state taxes going into effect.
I loved living in Chicago for five years, but the Stroger/Daley machine politics can kiss my Kane County roadie ass.
Damn I miss the City.
