I'm a sissy in the cold so I break out a 4/3mm psycho 2, and sometimes when I'm doing dawn patrol I'll throw on a non-neoprene baselayer with a hood just so I won't freeze my balls off.
Oh you mean bikes? It gets cold in San Diego. I started wearing arm warmers at night, especially when it gets foggy.
p.s. rubbing in our superior southern california weather really never gets old.

Layers are the key, but to be honest I don't really get that cold when I ride in winter. Wool socks are a must, but I often wear jeans. I usually wear a thin wool top and a windproof jacket, and this is when it is -40 celcius. Right now it is -10 celcius and I just wear a hoody, nothing special.
Studded tires are key if you get ice and snow.
