Fixed Riders - Right vs. Left Brain Logic

Maybe you have seen this already, but take a look at the image below and determine if the dancer is turning clockwise or counter-clockwise:

If the dancer is turning clockwise, then you tend to use more of your right side. If she is turning counter-clockwise, then your more left sided.

Brain functions:

Left Brain / Counter-Clockwise:
  • Uses Logic
  • Details
  • Facts
  • Words/Language
  • Past/Present
  • Math/Science
  • Safe/Practical

Right Brain / Clockwise:
  • Uses Feelings
  • Big Picture
  • Imagination
  • Symbols/Images
  • Future/Present
  • Philosophy/Religion
  • Risky/Impatient

Personally, she spins counter-clockwise for me but every now and then, I catch her spinning clockwise.

I see both. First time I looked, though, I saw clockwise before she "switched directions."

It was clockwise when I started, but if I stare long enough and concentrate I can switch it.

but then my brain hurts.

the other reason this bugs me is i'm definitely a mix of the two definitions so hypothetically i should be able to see both right? strangely enough i feel like my logic side is whats keeping it clockwise....

clockwise, but the description is completely wrong for me.

edit: I had seen this before and was really irritated i couldn't reverse it. i finally managed to by blocking everything but the foot and staring at it until it switched.

^^^ I'm with this guy.

I see it turning clockwise, I've been staring for 5 minutes straight, and she doesn't spin any other damn way but clockwise. You're all lying.

This is incredibly annoying - I see it clockwise and I can't get myself to make it switch. I'm gonna stare at it for another 5 minutes and get back to you.

It switched on me too, but I can't consciously make it switch.

I could make it switch at will by watching the parts tracing a circle(her outstretched hand and foot) and trying to imagine how the rotation could be in an opposite direction.

I'm still really confused by how it works though....

I saw clockwise and the only way to make it switch was by looking at the shadow of the foot. But my brain hurts as well...

She's going clockwise. If you see counter clockwise you are crazy. Seriously. Well, apparently I'm right brained. I used to be a little bit of both, then art school killed the left side of my brain.

Clockwise. I can't make it switch. I called one of my coworkers over and they saw counter-clockwise first then were able to make it switch. My mind is warped from trying to make it switch.

My first time, I saw her going clockwise, but now I can change her direction whenever I want(using the shadow).
