I just can't believe the person who made that actually put his/her name on it. If I made something that stupid looking, the last thing I'd want is for anyone to know that it was me who made it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that nobody is going to prosecute you for basing a wholely original piece off of a copyrighted piece. Maybe if it included a person's likeness or a trademark/logo or something...
