Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

and looking for some folks to ride with. from oregon originally, but been living in brooklyn for the last five years. in vietnam now and i'll be looking for a place/job/riding buddies in seattle after the new year. i don't think there's a seattle forum, but if there is, point me in that direction. whisper me for my phone number...also i'm a (sous) chef so if anyone knows of any openings coming up in good kitchens lemme know. i've got some connects as far as that goes but still...alright, see u guys on the left coast in a bit.

there's a pretty happenin fixie scene out here in seatown, you won't be disappointed! (although you might have to change your gearing a bit to get up n' over some of the hills around here)

definitely check out the .83 forum to get in touch w/ local riders.

critical mass is 5:30 PM @ westlake center, last friday of every month.

and if you're into track racing, there's the maymoor velodrome! (just outside of seattle, within riding distance)

Going from Bklyn to Seattle, you're gonna get some hill shock. There are quite a few decent people out here, but I don't honestly hang out with many cyclists.

As far as places to live, what type of area are you looking for?

And keep an eye on CL for jobby jobs. You should be able to find something.

What area of Seattle are you moving to? Capitol Hill's pretty good for the whole ss/fg scene, although I myself am further up north in Shoreline. There are a bunch of hills around here. Welcome!

not really sure yet, gonna be staying at my gf's parent's place in oregon while they're away until we find a place, jobs, etc. somewhere cheaper...gf lived around capitol hill like 5 years ago and liked it but we might go a little further out. looking forward to exploring.
