lost the brake
#2
welcome to the only way to fly.
1) take really good care of your drive system, to make sure that your chain will not break, your chain will not come loose and start skipping over the cog teeth, your lockring will not come loose.
2) learn how to stop fast. skids/hop skids, fishtails, carving.
3) pay more attention to traffic much farther ahead of you than usual. careful anticipation of traffic allows for a much smoother ride with less abrupt stops and accelerations. pass cars on their right side when they are waiting to turn left and on their left side when they are turning right, so you don't have to stop waiting for them.
4) keep in mind taht you're still running a small risk of drive failure and that you might have to pull an emergency move. figure out a way to stop while going downhill without a chain. sticking your foot between the seat tube and rear tire is a pretty easy way to induce a hard skid.
riding brakeless is the most fun i've had in a long time. good luck.
