Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I changed a lot of stuff on this bike after this photo was taken.

First of all, the handlebars are now bullhorns, put on a different saddle, the pedals ARE NOT those **** plastic ones anymore, added clips and straps, formula flip flop hub, went up to the larger chainring (52T I think) and put on a 16T surly track cog.

The lighting is really odd on that picture, I like it !

Um...all a pentagram does is trap the demon/angel.

If you enter it, what is the point of containing the demon so it can't harm you? You just want it to do your bidding, and get the hell on afterward. Like a $5 hooker.

1982 Trek 311, SS. First real attempt at making a SS. Will need to put on another chain. 40 t crank, 18 r cog, hope to find a flip flop soon. I will be riding this around for winter and will do more upgrades come spring, hopefully to fixed. Bought bike for $10 on Craiglist ( geared ) So far that's all I have invested, wanted to keep it simple to see if I like riding without gears. Have some plastic fenders to put on tomorrow also. Have to deal with some scraps and paint chips also.

Carrying boxes is fun. Had to get a new box to ship out the GT since shipping charges go overboard if the measurements are over the limit.

yea I'm very thankful it wasn't a windy day today, but I'm glad most of the drivers didn't honk at me for taking the lane. Big ups to those many patient drivers today. I got so many "that guy is crazy!!!!!" looks

When hitting the occasional pothole -- it's enough to leave a bit of a tire mark, but not enough to feel it while riding. C'est la vie. I'm not running 19mm tires..
