That bike isn't going to be ridden, it was built to live in the corner of the kitchen.
Sometimes when friends come over it'll be allowed into the living room.

i don't ride it much, but i do ride it.

over bridges sometimes.
i put a lot of miles on it before i graduated... it took me to every class and work shift for about three months. did an alleycat too.

i just change parts on it so often that it always looks new, and now i drive to work full time so i don't get to ride it as much. that will change though:)

this needs conti gatorskins or something else with dark brown sidewalls. then you need to get some money from adidas.

cc700 05-29-08 11:00 PM

haha not a bad idea. i was thinking brown saddle and bars but gumwalls would be cool too.

cc700 05-30-08 12:30 AM

TehK 05-30-08 12:42 AM

This could spawn a whole new thread for theme bikes....then there would be a TV series....talk show appearances....

Updated pics with different stem.

Changed the stem to a 50mm Thomson

it looks a tad on the short side, will this affect the handling much? i dig the chainring a lot

Nismo3FiftyZ 05-30-08 11:53 AM

For comparison

Old

New

cc700 05-30-08 12:05 PM

it really needs grips or tape on the drops.

tested it out yesterday. rode 20 miles. uphill, downhill, and some sharp turns and i gotta say i like it a lot better. i'm more comfortable in the aero position now. i can turn more responsively.

more comfortable for me overall.

do your knees almost hit your bars or is your leg extension all wrong too?

i know. i really like the anodized black. seems hard to find now. i'm not ready to cover it up yet. been wearing nice gloves.

roscoenyc57 05-30-08 12:18 PM

plug those bars before you end up with a core section out of your leg!

tspinning 05-30-08 01:19 PM

here she is after the ride in today!

needs some black cranks /\
just an idea

maddyfish 05-30-08 01:23 PM

If that 50mm stem feels right and is right for you, you must be a weird shaped guy, or be riding a weird shaped bike

chris175 05-30-08 01:52 PM

that shimano chain ring kicks ass! who cares about colors and stem lengths, black or silver or any of that crap. ride the thing into the ground if its comfy and fast. folks thinking waaaaaaaaaaaay too much about color and matching this and that. see adidas bike for example of this.
