No. Have you ever used Toshi Double straps? I would assume not, since even your "gank ass commuter" has eggbeaters (which I find to be incredibly ignorant to walk around town in clipless shoes). Aside from all that, you are quite mistaken in your assumption. I happen to take the bike out to the velodrome at least once a week where I fit my other stem and bars.

So, now that I have wasted more time than you deserve at all, I really hope you get laid or drink tonight to pull you out of that deep depression. It's really bad for the forum (which is bad enough as it is). Ride safe!

i could not agree more.
grow up, get off the internet and go have fun riding (whether it be fixie, SS, MTB or anything)

PS-dont point out that i am on the internet and not riding myself, a broken ankle has me out of action for 6 weeks.

goldenskeletons 06-12-08 03:24 PM

octopus, you do realize that you have the road bike equivalent, right? there's nothing unique or special about your road bike, especially considering how YOU got it, and you blew up the boston forums about how ****** it was. how can you go off on a rant about someone's concept after pulling the same thing you're ranting about?

and chadbro, before i broke both my collarbones, i wore my clipless shoes year round from the time i got out of bed til the time i got back in bed. nothin' ignorant about it.

why is wearing clipless shoes ignorant? I find they work better then clips straps, i have good shoes that are really comfy and ATAC's on all my bikes, and i can walk day every day in them no issues...

please explain.

andre nickatina 06-12-08 07:34 PM

Yeah I was agreeing with chad until he dropped the clipless comment... ouch.

ANTI-NOWHERE 06-12-08 08:50 PM

I love how people ***** and moan on forums. Ridiculous! I rode my bike today and stabbed my dotus on the seat when I got cutoff by a truck.

peterockindy 06-12-08 09:45 PM

i dont get it... of the thousands of bikes posted on here .0001% of them look like they are ever ridden. I understand taking a photo when its brand new and clean but people are always jiving like "yeah bro i ride my bike 30,000 nautical miles a week n ****, just threw some new pedals on and here's the updated pic" Or "****, this is just my beater bike" and it looks ****ing new. Wtf mate?

p.s... im **** faced on single malt.

chadbrochill17 06-12-08 09:51 PM

I wasn't trash talking clipless, guys. Sorry if it came off that way. I just don't see how it can be healthy for the shoe (clip) or your legs walking around with your toes pointing to the sky. IDK I just prefer the comfort of cages/straps/reg shoes. You guys keep doin' what 'cher doin'. I'm not here to talk ****. :)

Do I have to post a picture of my daughters uber pink SS again ?

i always like when people slam clipless shoes and assume that people commuting in the city all ride on road cleats and do the penguin walk around town rather than being smart and riding with mtb cleats and comfy mtb shoes... ;)

it's even better when said person has $$$ toshi doubles and $$$ mks high-end track pedals because that combo ends up costing as much, more, or maybe a tiny bit less than MTB pedals + shoes.

chadbrochill17 06-13-08 02:28 AM

OK. See my above post. I don't care. Ride/walk around in your clipless shoes. We all like bikes. Sweet.

sosso 06-13-08 02:50 AM

New here.. I've been riding this with the free wheel for a few months. I'm about to put on a new front brake and switch it over to fixed. And no, I'm not currently riding it as it is (free wheel and no brakes!)

so how do you slow down if there is a group of prekindergarteners on the street?

maddyfish 06-13-08 07:56 AM

^^^^^^He just crashes, then steals their handlebars.

sosso 06-13-08 08:01 AM

Kanye wants one!

Does the frame still feel stiff or is that compromised with the couplers?

Why do you need a brake if going fixed?

it's still really stiff. it's gonna be a fun travel bike.

I don't mind chad's pista concept. If that's the way he likes it, cool.

But the dude riding freewheel with no brakes? Not so cool.

He already said that he wasn't riding it as-is and intended to convert it to fixed gear with a front brake. C'mon guys..

Breakthru 06-13-08 12:19 PM

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say he wnts the brake to help slow down, perhaps stop, in a safe and timely manner? just a theory...

Exactly. I run front brakes on my fixed and both front and rear on my ss.
