I'd hate to see your track setup. Wrap the bars or get grips, do you not sweat or something?

New here.. I've been riding this with the free wheel for a few months. I'm about to put on a new front brake and switch it over to fixed. And no, I'm not currently riding it as it is (free wheel and no brakes!)

I heard rear Hed 3s are super flexy when you whip skid. Have you noticed that?
Some track racers complain that HED discs are way flexy, and discs are obviously way more solid than any Tri Spoke could ever be. So yeah, I'd say they're not a very stiff wheel... the deflection tests on Sheldon confirm this. |

I would feel my front Tri Spoke flexing into the fender when I'd sprint up hills.

Hey, newbie first post, but I thought since I learnt heaps from reading these forums, I would post pics of my five month project. It's just a bit of fun, frame brand unknown the rest are bits from all over.
Hope you like. pz. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...a/P1000688.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...a/P1000690.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...a/P1000693.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...a/P1000697.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...a/P1000694.jpg |

just to ease your mind. nothing is as flexy as an A-spoke. Now that I'm riding on 36h wheels, I wouldn't ever think about going back to them now that they are sold. I seriously thought something was wrong with my bike when I put spoked wheels back on because they were so much more stiff and in turns it would turn on the dime
Now remember all the justifications you were giving about A-spokes in the past? |

Yeah I know, I rode a friends bike with full Aerospokes. I love the look of a rear Aerospoke (sans front) but I'd never own one.
Now remember all the justifications you were giving about A-spokes in the past? I'll still say they are great training wheels and I really didn't mind the weight, but now that I fully understand how flexy they are, I can say a spoked wheel trumps it any day. |
