those untaped bars are why they laugh at us. that and what that represents.

Among other reasons, yes.

I'd put a back brake on both of them if they were mine, but the absence doesn't detract. My kinda bicycles, those are.

DasPro - Thanks... I like practical bikes and running fixed on the trails is a blast. For twisty singletrack I am partial to running an SS or geared bike.

The Kuwie was set up for a u-brake that interferes with the chain on the fg set up and even if I could have lived with the chatter, I never used it after the conversion. I don't ride the mtb like I do my road bike and usually stay just below 30 kmh / 18mph so stopping (even sans brakes) is not an issue.

My fg touring bike runs dual brakes and came with a double stepped hub...I run it fixed and fixed and that rear brake only gets used on long descents when I want spread out the braking load.

Looks like those might be the Easton bars with the textured (read: no wrap/grips required) drops. Maybe.

that would be some serious turd-polish.
$300+ bars on an IRO?

Anyway, they're not EC90's. EC90's have built-in, rounded black barplugs. The IRO's barplugs are silver.

chadbrochill17 03-12-08 12:05 PM

yeah I think i would cry if I saw that IRO at the velodrome. Unwrapped drops are naht cool.

bonechilling 03-12-08 12:09 PM

Yeah, those bars are black Deda Pistas, I'm almost sure of it.

I owned one for a short period and found it quite hatchet-like. Looks good though.

New whip is finished. Went with risers, steerer tube was already cut, so drops weren't that comfortable. Once I get in better shape I'm sure I'll go between both on this ride.

Thanks, I ended up getting it for cost since bianchi was taking forever to get the concepts out. The shop that hooked me up will keep getting my business.
