They allow you to turn any note into a brown note.

They got their name from the amps, which were referenced in Earth's album, Sunn amps and smashed guitars... Earth used Sunn amps because of their low-frequency. Sunn loves Earth. So....

Velocity absolutely ruled. i'm even more amped for track season to start now. the weather was brutally cold and windy, but i felt soooo good out there.

Here's my Steamroller. The bars have changed to flat bullhorns and a brake has appeared since the pics were taken

We should share that wheelset. I'll let you borrow my dog. Deal?

Gyeswho 03-10-08 12:16 PM

I got a great deal on this one and the parts. I actually think this one's a better ride than the Cannondale Track, since this one fits better (I'm was suprised to find the Track was actually a little too small). Ya may find it ugly but it's just my style with function.

Sorry for the not so great photos. All thats left is grips.... 1945 Calrton Flyer Path frame, turned into 3 speed fixed gear with generator hub and cross tires.

Proper ASC trigger

Mafac Racer centerpulls, Challenge Grifo dry condtion tires, 700x32

The housing turned out nice, the barrell adjusters help tuning the tightness of the brakes, but dont work as well as I had hoped.

Titan bars and stem (shimmed, i know, i know)

Schmidt Generator hub

the whole front end. the trigger is an easy reach for my left thumb.

I used campy cable stops instead of the Sturmey ones, as they look nicer. I modified a downtube cable guide around the bb shell to route the cable along the stay.

Nervar 5 pin cranks, with adapteur ring. Allows for chainring changes without pulling the pedals.

And off I go!

beautiful man! i appreciate the attention to detail. i'd love to be able to put something like this together some day. i don't even want to think about how long it took to track down all those parts.

how's the slop on that SA hub? i love the idea in theory, but, not sure how it would actually function.

either way, i love the build!

Thanks. I found him on ebay and then checked out his site. The bag is very spacious for a "small". I did a test to see how water proof it is and it performs well. That is a cup of water that sat in there for 5 minutes with only droplets around the stitching

He seems like a nice guy, as well. When he first posted the bag he had designed and I think his wife makes, folks encouraged him to go into business. I should have jumped on it back then. They were way under priced. They are still a good deal cheaper than a Carradice, though.

Yours looks like a great size. You could stuff a packable jacket in there pretty easy, I bet.

yea he def is. I got the bag because it was a good amount cheaper than a Carradice and wanted something a little different as well. I think when I was looking at the specs too, this bag clocked in at being larger than a small carradice. Yea it can get a jacket in there too with a little persuasion need:p

1983 Shogun from dumpster. New wheelset, but everything else was lying around.
Finally found a flickstand, and now I'm set.

that's a good looking bike and the Head Tube Badge is amazing

hey guys, this is my first post on bfssfg, been lurking for a while. you guys have been really helpful (and funny) with this whole project. i've learned a lot.

this is my first fixie, sort of built it on a whim after having read about fixed gear for a while. knowing what i know now, i probably should have just bought a kilo tt (would've been about the same price), but i like this bike. its got character. i didn't really need anything fancy, and this bike gets me to class, the bars, and the library all the same. and i dont think anyone is going to steal it. i'm still learning the nuances of it, i cant really skid at all, or very well, or in a controlled manner, but someday, someday. i'm a bigger guy though so i use that as an excuse.

the bike has a bunch of "city of ames, ia" stickers on it (probably used to be ridden there), which is funny, considering I go to the university of iowa and am supposed to hate everything ames and iowa state related. oh well.

the guys at hall bicycle in cedar rapids and the broken spoke in iowa city were all really helpful with this. and here are some photos.

Do you ever keep a bike for longer than 2 weeks? :D:D

haha. yes i do keep a bike but for about 3 weeks:D. I don't as many bikes as it seems. The stable is The Capo, the Veloce, the Iro, and the Univega. Everything else got sold because it was too small or too big.
