Cheers,

It looks really good; I like the color scheme. One thing - take off the rim stickers.

"You only need a chain guard if you're wearing noob cycling clothes like jeans."

When I was a kid and rode a bike, I never wore a jersey and biking shorts, and I enjoyed bicycling just fine. As an adult, I still don't wear a jersey and biking shorts and I still enjoy riding, just the same. Maybe there's no correlation between the enjoyment you get from riding a bicycle, and the clothes you wear. I notice however, that in professional bicycle racing, bicycle jerseys and shorts are worn by all the racers to give them an aerodynamic advantage. Could it be then, that bicycle jerseys and shorts are made for RACING....and the non-professional riders who wear them are wannabe's?

This is just stupid. Wear whatever you want, but cycling clothes are about more than just aerodynamics. They are a lot more comfortable than jeans and wearing them does not make you some kind of "wannabe". Give them a try sometime.

No, they're typically made for people who enjoy moisture-wicking clothes, and who like to spend a long hours on their bicycles.

Not necessarily. Old steel forks can be bought pretty cheap on eBay. I got mine for $21, which is a whole lot cheaper than a $75 clamp-on brake.

Nashbar has a rather crude looking steel fork on sale right now for $6

LOL, I inadverantly made a face upon seeing that thing. it looks like a wal-mart MTB fork, or is it just me? :D

maddyfish 04-21-08 08:16 PM

^^^I know it's pretty bad, with my next nashbar order, I'm going to get one just to see what it looks like. Maybe save it as a spare? But it does solve this guys' brake problem, assuming it doesn't explode upon opening the box.

*suggestion* you could make one of those kickass toilet roll holders with it!!!

/honestly the strap on brakes is prolly the easiest solution, but i GUESS the trashfork would do in a pinch..

I know its not a very good picture of the bike, but I thought I would touch on the spring/cherry blossoms that blickblocks did... I used to have this tree right outside of my front door until I moved into a new apartment two weeks ago. I miss it :(

Two for your consideration:

Force Disorder Pump - un-pedigreed steel road frame, 60cm - my first fixed (sounds like something Fisher Price should market...)

Raleigh Super Grand Prix - unknown vintage, 62 or 63cm- hand-reworked bottom bracket madness to achieve decent chainline (ignorance is bliss)

Thanks

Dave G.

Blickblocks. You look crazy familiar...did you ever spend a lot of time in Columbus or know Dan McKewin's now ex fiancé or around Xenos? (sorry I know that’s extremely random)

Well I'm in Cleveland so there's a possibility we've met.
