Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yeah, very few if any can justify and escalade, hummer and the likes for normal use, anyway the stickers were already on the bike when I got it. It entertains me but going to remove it as I can see somebody vandalizing my bike or trying to cause harm to me over said sticker.

My latest completed project and one of my cruisers in the background. I know I wrapped the bars backwards... : (
More photos to come.
Get at me if anyone in the Chicago area wants to go ride.

Looks like a nice and clean/simple build. What are the specs on it and final build cost?

Thanx Guy.

53cm Pake frame and fork, Cane Creek Headset, ITM stem
48/16 w/170mm Pake cranks and chainring.
Vuelta wheels and hubs
38cm Nitto Bullhorn drops
What am I forgetting...?

Just shy of $900 because I didn't wanna buy any used parts and some of the stuff was hard to find, ie: handlebars. I'd be happy with 34/32cm bullhorn drops but I can't find them anywhere. Any ideas?

Got a Scattante XRL single speed on some Deep Vs, and a Nishiki Professional conversion with Sugino Super Mighty Competition cranks and Deep Vs. here is a link to the pics.

There's a fair amount of bike porn showing up in the 2008 CMWC Pics thread (https://www.bikeforums.net/singlespeed-fixed-gear/430122-photos-cmwc-xvi-toronto-canada.html) and the related links.

Tilt your bars up more. You're supposed to ride/put your hands on the flat sections of the bars, not the tips the whole time.

Yeah I know but it's more comfortable for me this way. They were tilted at one point but I didn't like it. Down they went.
