How did you convert those wheels to SS?
Just use a hub converter?
I do like those old Shimanos, low spoke counts do look sweet!

I popped off the cassette and then used spacers to set up a nice chain-line on a 15t cog. It is pretty easy and can be done with any of the new wheels. I had this set lying around, just gathering dust, so at least they are getting some use now.

I am new on these forums but in my opinion that is the classiest bike I have seen in a long time. I am full of envy over here.

Yeah, they scare me too, but the owner of my fave LBS has them on his 'abused touring bike' and swears by them. He's a clydesdale, has panniers, tows his kid on a trailer, hops curbs, etc. and hasn't broken a spoke in over two years. Go figure.

Recent CL buy. New to riding. What would be some of the fist things you (anybody and evrybody) would do to upgrade this bike? I mean, nothing crazy, but some basic upgrades. Thanks.
P.s. I've changed those pedals.

Winsor The Hour Toe Clips

I have that bike and I had to modify the clips the first day. I cut everything off except the front part of the clip to about 1/2 inch behind where the two sides meet. I'll post pictures later today. I still want new pedals though.

Brake cable's pretty short on the red bike. I like the blue frame. And it is nice to see some sensible gearing choices around here.
