Some of you probably already saw this on a separate thread, but thought I'd capture in this thread for posterity.

just to clarify.... i never meant for him to wrap with the cable with the existing setup... but thanks for the vote of non confidence guys... Clearly i was actually suggesting he mount a plastic shovel handle on the cable, zip tied to the top tube for braking as well

I've actually seen some drops with a cable canyon recessed into them for cable routing, which gets rid of the "bulk"

I was wondering the same thing. I ride on the hoods all the time, so much that I've been debating getting a set of bullhorns and I have never had a problem with the cables getting in the way.

Haha. Yeah... the cable is a bit long but it was the stock length and it doesn't bug me enough for me to actually cut them.

The bars were original as well but I have seen bars that have a groove for the cable...just not worth it for my beater commuter

The bottom bracket is a Shimano sealed cartridge (68x113 I believe), crank is a Shimano 105, and chainring is a 46t Rocket Ring. I tried to keep this bike simple and use parts I had left after. Rides like a dream.

by the way there was no insult, i called him a nerd which is a friendly joke, i have no idea who that guy is or if he's a nerd or not but i don't think its that big of a deal, and i don't think the guy does either, otherwise he would have said something like "hahaha you the nerd"

Either your front wheel is missing a spoke or the rear wheel has one too many spokes.
