[QUOTE=sashae]sashae-framebank The Vivalo is drilled, but I got it by request. Friend of mine's girlfriend needed a small frame that she can run a front brake on, and this fit perfectly.

how does one order from sashae-framebank?

Late 1960's Atala Track bike
This bike was abandoned at the shop I work at and I adopted it by paying off the repair bill. Hence its name, Oliver Twist.
-In racing mode it has:
Campy Record High Flange tubular front wheel (given to me by the great people at the More Gardens Collective in NYC)
Rear wheel is a non-machined Deep V with a Phil Wood High Flange hub
The crankset is a Gipiemme road crank which is going to change as soon as I can afford a good track crank.
The seatpost and stem were scavenged off an older bike and will change soon
The bars are Soma Major Taylor track drops. These are some of the most comfortable bars I've ever ridden.
Gearing is 50x16 or 50x15
-For street riding I switch the front wheel to an old Campy Record low flange clincher and the bars to some chopped and flipped steel bullhorns
Gearing is usually 50x17, sometimes 50x18.

So the bike is not light. I think maybe they just forgot that butted tubing existed. It comes in at about 21.5 lbs. But the stiffness makes up for it and it climbs like a goat.

That thing is awesome. It's screams for one of those old cinelli track stems though. I look forward to seeing it when you are totally done with it.

ok, here's the new frame partially built. i'm waiting for hub screws from Paul, so I lifted the front wheel off my gal's bike. soon the wheels will be aeros laced to DA 7600s. I'm also waiting on some B-123s and then that'll just about do it for now.

I think it may be a while before I can afford to get any better parts for the Atala. sounds crazy but my total investment in the bike so far is about $65 (frame and all). everything has been scavanged or donated. The seatpost has issues. The one that's in there is about 26.6 but one of the mechanics at work is pretty sure that it really takes a 27.0 or 27.2. someone probably had that one laying around and just tightened the hell out of the binder bolt to get it to fit. I'm going to need to stretch the collar back out and figure out what it was origionally supposed to be. I need to get more flexible to be able to put a track stem on there. I was doing some sprints with the stem all the way down and it was killing me. It would be nice to get a chrome stem, seatpost, and crank. I gave the origional crank to one of the mechanics at work. It was an old chrome steel three arm track crank that I didn't have any real use for. I'll probably get a thompson seatpost and a nitto jaguar stem when I can afford one. Maybe get an old campy crank and polish the hell out of it.

thanks for the compliments

kyle

Here's a stupid noob question. Whats the deal with the little padding on the top tube? I've seen a bunch of fixed-gears with them.

it's a work in progress, my coaster brake frakenbike, the frame is made out of the posts that hold up chainlink fences, the seat stays and chain stays and bottom bracket are from an old bmx and so is the saddle/seatpost, head tube, fork and stem(not shown), i'm having some BB clearence issues that will be fixed tomorrow. 20 inch coaster brake in the back, 27x 1/4 in the front. I did all the welds myself, more pictures when i finish it tomorrow.

That little plastic clip-on tube protects your top tube from getting dinged by the bars if they rotate too far left or right. The protector pictured is pretty expensive compared to what most people do: just wrap the same small area in bar tape or electrical tape. I guess the plastic protector looks a little classier. My friend had a custom stem made that was just tall enough so when the bars rotated too far they cleared the top tube.
