It's the Wall of Death.

I'm going to ride right by there in about 20 minutes.

My roadie

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d2...insideview.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d2...derailleur.jpg

specs:
-Rossin frame (unsure of the model, but mid 80s)
-c-record lf tubulars - 28 in the back, 36 up front
-Super record crankset, Maillard Sachs freewheel
-c-record derailleurs, shifters
-c-record brake levers, record single pivot calipers
-record fluted 2-bolt post, perforated supercorsa
-Cinelli 1A stem, Campione del Mondo bars
-Super record headset
-Triomphe pedals
-Chrome silca frame pump is on its way. Outdated and a little silly/anal, but so is the rest of the bike.
Just under 19lbs

Took me a long time to put this one together. Been acquiring parts for it for a better part of a year. Finally scraped the money together for the frameset and cranks. Riding it makes me happy.

And yeah, it does need an Italian bottle holder, but the only shop in town that carries Elite cuissis charges $25 and only has em in yellow. It does at least deserve a non ****e bottle holder. whaddya gonna do?

ryand 06-08-07 09:57 PM

that rear der. is amazing.

theres a NIB 1st generation C Record grouppo on EBay for 2800 BIN right now.

You know... if anybody wants to spend that kind of money. It looks sweet as hell.

i had to post this just for ridiculousness factor. i just finished assisting a friend in building this for a friend. it's a 24" raleigh somethinorother. we managed to cut the overall weight in half just upgrading components, and it rides a lot safer and smoother now. set up as an ss, fenders to come shortly.

it looks like the stem is retracted to it's shortest, and lowest postition, so not doing anything different than a regular stem would do.

that stem reminds me of a flaccid penis.

nice, that monostay is killer..... must be a custom frame?

I have been looking around for a steel frame with a monostay and have only found a Mondonico.... and it like 3400 for the frame ..!

do you have a close up of it, is it lugged?
