REYNOLDS 631 vs. DECCADI
Thinking about getting a new frame:
I may have access to one of the IRO group buy frames with DECCADI, but the Mark V Pro (631) also seems sweet. Which tubeset is better? Deccadi?
The pro is not drilled and has no brazeons which I like.
Any thoughts, opinions, etc?
thanks

Does anyone know what grade of DECCADI the BFGB is made from? I have searched the threads for the answer and could not find it.

Thanks. It was becoming annoying. Though a search brought this up. https://finetoothcog.com/bike_posts/cached/32326
I know Michi makes good parts and Cleaste is an awesome color, but I just can't swing $275.

He obviously knows what he's talking about, and is using the common colloquial term that we all understand. You're just trying to make a weak semantic argument, so please stop.

i'm thrilled to death with my 631 frame (sputnik). light, stiff enough to be efficient, flexy enough to be comfortable, affordable. i also have a columbus EL-OS geared bike which is heavier and hella stiff. can't speak to the d-stuff. still is rill!

It doesn't matter.
One of my favorite bikes is made out of 531 and a few decades old.
My other favorite bike is made from whatever tubes the framebuilder had hanging around when he built it for me. I have no idea what they are, other than 'steel'. Rides great, though.
Don't get so hung up on materials, as long as it's not gaspipe you'll be fine.

if you actually care, i made an update in the main thread... swapped the 140mm stem & steel drops out for stiff ass shorter stem + aluminum bullhorns, and it feels much better... it'll do until i find something else i like here, or get home to my other bikes. i would totally sell it, but nobody in japan seems interested in it at all. everyone's kinda like "nice color, i guess"
