Man, the two worst drunks of my life were on franzia. Each year my cycling friends and I do the "Tour de Franzia" in conjunction with the Tour de France. Each stage is a house and a box...when it's gone, you cycle to the next one. Spandex is mandatory.
Slap the bag for me, would ya?

Alot of my gay friends drink Franzia. I tried it once, wasn't crazy about it. But I guess it's cheap. I imagine it's just coincidence, or is it like a gay thing i don't know about?

Yeah you know what got me into PBR? Rollerderby. I had been volunteering as security for the Rose City Rollers' bouts and the "pay" was a pass into the afterparty and free beer. Well the free beer was Pabst and being the cheapass that I am I got sloshed on the stuff instead of paying for a drink (okay I usully bought a shot or two). After that it's been my cheap beer of choice; however, if the bar doesn't have it I just ask for their cheapest beer and it pretty much always tastes the same. Anyhow yeah, I don't know why people here like it so much, but it's everywhere and cheap as hell.

Living in Madison, WI I can say with all surety that the cheapest beer at any bar is almost always better tasting than PBR and is usually from Wisconsin if not Madison itself.
And if the cheapest beer at that bar is NOT PBR then you should still not drink PBR if only to support local breweries and drink decent beer.

i really dont want to associate a beer to riding a certain kind of bicycle, but if i'm drinking ****ty beer, i'm drinking ****TY BEER. i.e. king cobra, colt 45, old e, schlitz, etc. i can get trashed for $4 tops? and if i'm feeling just a little classier, i'll drink the md 20/20 or wild irish rose...

a lot of people like pbr not just because it's cheap, but because they like to talk about how cheap it is while drinking it...bringing yourself up by putting yourself down..."IM SO RAD I DRINK PBR. DOOD ITS SO CHEAP!"
that said, i drank a lot of pbr this semester.
edit: blue moon as the fixed gear trend of 2008.

american microbrews are nice, but somehow they don't agree with my stomach if I drink a lot of them. a good lager or a cheap beer is better for that.

The only time I'll drink PBR is if I'm already wicked drunk or if it's after a race. I can't stand anything super hoppy after hauling 20 miles worth of ass on a bike.

a huge percentage of fixed gear riders in Pittsburgh are beer snobs...you'll see a whole mess of bikes parked in front of all of the shops that sell microbrews and imports.

A letter from Pabst (printed in the Portland Mercury in an article about Portland's favorite beer):
I love Pabst. Its by no means the best beer (though PDX does make some of the best beer), its simply tried, true and f*ckin cheap.
Dear longtime friends of Portland. For many years I have served you, and hopefully served you well as "Portland's Favorite Beer." Today, I stand before you not to beg for re-election, but to simply remind you of why I think you chose me as your favorite beer in the first place. You and I, we have much in common. Our homes are in smoky, dark taverns, motorcycle repair shops, and on the banks of the Sandy River. But perhaps our most common denominator is that people look at us and ask, "Why?" "Why are we so underemployed?" "Why are we so lacking in substance?" And, "Why can't we be more like everyone else?" The simple answer is that you and I are cut from a different cloth. Sure, we may both work for "corporate masters." But there is something inside each of us that will always be different from the pack with you, it's an overwhelming enjoyment of loud, unseemly music and wrecking bicycles. With me, it's that delicious secret ingredient that makes me go down like water, but taste like heaven.
You and I go together because frankly, no one else will have us. And that's why I would like to continue to serve you as "Portland's Favorite Beer." Like conjoined twins attached at the liver, we can't exist apart. Thank you, and God bless Portland.
P.S. Dennis Hopper chose me in the movie Blue Velvet.
